January 28, 2022 (Midlothian, Virginia) – C&F Mortgage Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of five new members to our Loan Officer Training School. Billy Stephens, John Chukayne, Joshua Perry, Kristin DiBuono, and Riley Fox joined the C&F Mortgage team to begin their careers in the mortgage industry. Billy Stephens comes from a 19-year career in the building and construction industry with a primary focus on sales and company management. John Chukayne served in the Army and worked as a purchasing professional prior to joining C&F Mortgage. Kristin DiBuono joins the team as a recent graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Business Marketing and has experience in real estate marketing. Joshua Perry and Riley Fox both join the team after transitioning from C&F Bank.
C&F Mortgage’s Loan Officer Training School was founded in 2015 by Mike Mazzola, Senior Vice President, as an opportunity to educate quality, sales driven originators by focusing on the efficiency of originations at a high producing rate. The Loan Officer Training School provides an opportunity to individuals who want to enter the mortgage industry while providing C&F Mortgage the opportunity to build a sales force from the ground up. With a career in mortgage lending, learning never ends.
Throughout the course, trainees build mentorships within the company, earn NMLS licensing, build a business network portfolio, learn lending guidelines, calculations and qualifying standards and build an in-depth understanding of the mortgage market to generate volume. For the first two years after schooling, graduates are mentored to be strategically pushed from their comfort zones and drive business.

Billy Stephens:
Billy Stephens graduated from VCU in 2003 with a degree in Business Management and Administration. Most of his career was spent at Artistic Stone Design in Richmond, VA where he served as Vice President. As a Loan Officer, he is excited to build relationships and grow his real estate network.
When he is not actively helping people achieve their dream of homeownership, you can find him hunting, fishing, field trialing his dogs, or socializing with friends.
John Chukayne:
John Chukayne is originally from Cleveland, Ohio and studied Economics at Salve Regional University in Newport, RI. Following graduation John joined the Army and served as a Logistics Officer. After his stint in the Army, John worked as a purchasing professional in Richmond, VA. John is eager to learn from the mentors in the Loan Officer Training School and exceed borrower expectations.
When he is not helping homebuyers, John enjoys travelling, golf, and vacations in the Outer Banks. He also coaches ice hockey at the University of Richmond and works with young skaters at Southampton Recreation Association.
Joshua Perry:
Joshua Perry has a background in sales, holding a position at C&F Bank, and working as a Realtor in the Richmond Area. He grew up playing sports in West Point, VA and played collegiate baseball at the University of Lynchburg. He now resides with his family in New Kent, VA.
Joshua chose C&F Mortgage because of the opportunity to be challenged and the family-like atmosphere at C&F. Joshua hopes to become a strong producer at C&F and to help encourage his peers to do the same.
Kristin DiBuono:
A Virginia Beach native and recent graduate of James Madison University’s business program, Kristin joins C&F Mortgage in hopes of growing as a professional in the industry and being able to help clients pursue their dreams of owning a home. Kristin in a natural born leader and is motivated to connect with people from all walks of life in her career as a Loan Officer.
Kristin enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She comes from an Italian family, and her favorite things to cook are pasta dishes.
Riley Fox:
Riley Fox was a student athlete (Linebacker) at the College of William and Mary where he studied Finance and Entrepreneurship. After graduation in May of 2021, Fox joined C&F Bank as a Business Credit Analyst. Riley is eager to begin his career with C&F Mortgage and put his entrepreneurship knowledge to use.
Riley is an avid sports fan and when he’s not helping home buyers, you can find him watching sports, spending time with friends and family, listening to live music, and adventuring outdoors.
